15 Comedians the Internet Declares are the Most Unfunny

Comedians are brave people who’s sole purpose is making people laugh. Not every joke can be a hit, but they will lose their following if they repeatedly fail to entertain. It’s also not always their jokes that make them unfunny. According to the internet, here are the top-voted answers to the most unfunny comedians.

Will Ferrell is an actor best known for his hit films “Elf,” “Talladega Nights,” and “Step Brothers.” His comedy is modern slapstick and there are some who aren’t fans of his comedy.

“I thought I was the only one. People are so shocked that I don’t like him.”

“He is anti-funny, as far as I am concerned.”

Silverman is known for discussing controversial subjects head-on.  She isn’t afraid to offend or ridicule statements but many find her sarcasm distasteful.

Amy Schumer is known for pushing boundaries with her comedy. Unfortunately, she’s also become known for stealing jokes and the repetitive style she uses in her acts. Some people love her self-deprecating humor initially and then think it gets old fast.

“The first time I saw her stand up I thought she was hilarious then the next time I saw her I thought that she just watched her first comedy special and rewrote the same jokes with a slight tweak so it wasn’t complete plagiarism. You can almost make a joke writing machine that spits out Amy Schumer jokes.”

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres is known for her quirky personality and the endearing host of her former daytime television show. At least until cancel culture took over and exposed her as a “not as nice as you think.” Some people find her comedy relatable. Others believe she can be harsh and laser-focused on humiliating people if she pleases: “Her “comedy” is just being rude to people and embarrassing them.”

Many readers had similar comments to this, “I’ve never found Ellen Degeneres to be funny.” One reader posted the following response, “Of course, you wouldn’t. You’re probably human and elks are her target demographic.”

James Corden

James Corden initially popped onto the late show scene, presenting himself as a likable, jolly good fellow. But then his dark side was revealed, and he was no longer the loveable Brit everyone thought he was. From treating wait staff like garbage to having full-out meltdowns. How can somebody like that be funny anyway?

“He’s not an actual comedian. He is a pretty decent comedy writer but isn’t funny.”

George Lopez

Some readers believe George Lopez is just stuck in his old Mexican roots jokes, while others may think he’s relatable. But making fun of Latinos has landed him in hot water. Some people think he’s crossed the line into the severely unfunny territory.

“I’ve never found George Lopez very funny. Some of his Mexican stuff is funny but seems like that’s all he talks about and gets old”

“I like his earlier stuff. The problem is, his modern stuff is exactly the same. It’s still 45 minutes of “MEXICAN, eh!? EH?!?!?!?!”. It doesn’t play the same anymore, either. There was a place for that a few decades ago. Now…post-Trump Mexican-hate that Republicans have been doing, it’s not cute anymore. It doesn’t represent the culture in a way that’s particularly healthy. “

Jeff Dunham is a comedian and ventriloquist. He likes to let his dummies do the dirty work, as much of his act has been called offensive and racist. He may believe pushing boundaries is funny, but not everybody is on board with that kind of comedy.

“Got dragged to one of his shows and I sat there praying for the asteroid.”

“I’ve never so much as chuckled at one of his jokes.”

“Jeff Dunham (his act) it’s just racism and voices”

Kevin Hart

Despite not being big fans of Kevin Hart’s comedy routines, many readers agreed that it’s more his delivery that attracts people. His material often lacks substance and is repetitive, but somehow he gets laughs by screaming and laughing through a story.

“I was dragged to a Kevin Hart show. He was doing some bit about how a raccoon in his backyard is intentionally trolling him. Everyone around me was dying from laughter. I was wondering if there was something I was missing. He’s very animated and has great delivery and stage presence. But his material just sucks.”

“I‘ve heard that whole raccoon routine on the radio as well and I had the same reaction. He tells stories that might be chuckle-worthy if it was a friend or coworker telling them, but paying to go to a “professional“ telling the same thing and then hearing audiences going into hysterics? ”

“I never laugh at his stand up routines, they just aren’t funny.”

Kathy Griffin’s name came up regularly in the online forum. Her comedy isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. Still, many call her brave and razor-tongued. A self-proclaimed D-lister in the Hollywood ranks, she found herself marred in controversy over her decision to post an image of herself holding a bloody mask with the face of Donald Trump. She says the beheaded Trump picture caused her to be canceled and lose many jobs.

“Her weird voice triggers me.”

“To me, Kathy griffins humor has no redeeming qualities.”

Jimmy Fallon seems like the guy you want to be best friends with. Many think the SNL alum is loveable, always smiling, and buddies with all the celebrities. But his constant giggling during sketches got old, and playing with Donald Trump’s hair landed him in hot water with many.

“Fallon is Leno levels of unfunny with added layers of desperation.”

“Omg the laugh, the nervous laugh! Makes me nuts!”

“I hate Jimmy Fallon with passion, I honestly do not get it, he was terrible in SNL, and is as bad as anything he is at, how did he make it?”

Dane Cook

Dane Cook reached a comedy high in the mid-2000s with what was referred to as a raunchy style of comedy. But after a few box office bombs like Employee of the Month and a stupid comment about a tragic movie theatre shooting, Dane’s star status took a major tumble.

“That’s the problem with people like Cook. Their shtick inherently has a shelf life, and if they do not become more sophisticated in their art, it does expire.”

“Dane Cook is the most unfunny comedian I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching.”

Jimmy Kimmel

He’s been described by many readers as boring and unfunny. Readers across the internet have written posts slamming Kimmel and his comedy. Yet he’s been asked to host the Oscar Awards three times. Many say he’s lost his charm since he’s gravitated more toward political comedy.

“Jimmy Kimmel lacks the charisma Jay (Leno) exudes. It’s almost like he’s stilted, in a way, and his show has the same appeal as stale toast or white crackers. Yeah it’s food, but it’s not very appealing.”

“Kimmel used to be funny, which makes his current “comedy” even worse.”

Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson rose to fame as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live.” He gained attention for his self-deprecating humor and candid approach to discussing personal struggles including mental health issues. He is also known for his high profile relationships with entertainers like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian.

“Had to scroll too far down for this. Really don’t get his appeal, or I can see the attitude that is kind of sexy but his is not funny, like at all.”

“I’ve even tried smiling before he cracked a joke so as to, who knows, make it easier for me to laugh when he started talking but yup, that failed as well. I don’t get it either why people find him funny.”

Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld is known for his knack in finding humor in everyday life. But his observational humor and distinctive delivery doesn’t work for everybody. Several readers have said that although they were big fans of his show, they don’t appreciate his stand up comedy nearly as much. One reader commented that the show was funny because it was mostly written by Larry David.

“I (and Jerry himself!) maintain that Larry David was the real driver behind the show. Paraphrasing a quote from his book “Seinlanguage”, he said 90 percent of the show is stuff from Larry David’s life.”

“I feel the same way. Seinfeld is the GOAT tv show as far as I am concerned. But his stand up comedy I’d classify more as very clever observations, that make me think “oh wow, good point, I never looked at it like that before”. Instead of making me laugh out loud which is what I expect a stand up to do. But it is ironic, he got the show because he was one of the most popular stand up comics in the country towards the late 80s.”

Adam Sandler

“Adam Sandler…that dude is cringe.” Another reader replied “I don’t know what to do here. Do I hit the upvote because I hate Adam Sandler or downvote because I hate the use of the word “cringe”
